I came across this cute article from Shape magazine, called “Online Dating Disasters That’ll Make You Glad You’re Single”. It’s a great compilation of several testimonials from gals with dating disasters linked to online dating or social media in one way or another. I want to highlight one for now. This one features a woman who found out the crappy way that her new man might be a little more shallow than she thought. Here’s her contribution to the article:

Potential “Friends” Shouldn’t Be Superficial
”I’d been dating a guy for about a month when I looked for him on Facebook. We’d mutually decided that it was too early to officially ‘friend’ each other, but I decided there was nothing wrong with a little digging. What I found: A page that wasn’t locked down on private, and a cute photo of him and me from a date. A little weird, but what was worse were the comments below the photo, where my guy wrote ‘Yeah, she’s a little chunky, but she’s cute, right?’ Needless to say, we never did make it ‘Facebook official.’” -Samantha, 32

As you can imagine, that would suck to read. Especially on Facebook. Where everyone else saw it (probably) before you did. What would you do if you came across something like this, written about you? Would you write something like this? It just goes to show that you have to be careful with what you post, because you never know who will come across it, or when. On the same note, someone this shallow and in need of approval on the women he dates probably isn’t ready for a real relationship anyway.

Stay tuned for more highlights from this article!

Lots of Love,

Emily
